J. Doug Crook P.E., LEED AP
Doug, a native of Panama City, graduated from the University of Central Florida in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. He began his engineering career in 2001 as an intern at PBS&J (now Atkins) where, over the next 17 years, he advanced to the role of manager of the Orlando office’s land development department. In this capacity, Doug was responsible for managing an office staff of over 20 engineers and designers while supporting multiple national and regional clients in the public, private, and federal sectors. Doug was a key player on the Atkins team charged with growing the company’s share in the Central Florida resort, hospitality, and theme park market. As the company’s client manager for The Walt Disney Company, he helped to develop relationships with Disney Imagineering executives and enjoyed regular success in competing for highly coveted resort and theme park projects throughout his tenure. While his project resume is littered with examples across Sea World, Disney, and Universal Studios properties, his experience in the central Florida region expanded across the residential, commercial, and municipal markets as well.
Returning to his hometown in 2018, Doug joined Panhandle Engineering as a Senior Project Manager, where he continued to be responsible for engineering project management and coordinating production office-wide. In 2023, he became a partner of Panhandle Engineering and was promoted to the role of Vice President. Doug is committed to leveraging his technical skills and extensive project experience to provide Panhandle Engineering’s clients with the very best in engineering excellence.
