Treasure Island Marina Boat Barn

This project involved the construction of a new 82,000sf dry storage boat barn on the existing Treasure Island Marina property off Thomas Drive. This new building can store 288 boats and replaces several smaller buildings that were destroyed during Hurricane Michael in 2018. Panhandle Engineering provided civil engineering, permitting and construction administration services for the project. A major challenge for this facility was the accommodation of a stormwater management system. Working with the building designer, this was accomplished with a non-standard system which pumps stormwater collected on the site to a connected system of stormwater vaults built into the building’s foundation.
